Dubai will become the epicenter of the global coffee trade this February, as the inaugural DMCC Specialty Coffee Auction takes center stage during World of Coffee (WOC) Dubai 2025.

A strategic collaboration between WOC Dubai and the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), the auction will showcase some of the world’s rarest and most sought-after coffee beans.

Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from February 10-12, 2025, WOC Dubai will feature approximately 20 exclusive lots of specialty-grade coffee beans. These lots, all scoring 92 points or higher on the Specialty Coffee Association Cupping form, will be available for bidding both in person and via a cutting-edge digital platform. The event aims to attract coffee producers, traders, and enthusiasts from around the globe.

Specialty coffee has become increasingly valuable, with high-quality lots commanding significant prices. Earlier this year, the Elida Geisha Natural Torre coffee lot fetched a record $10,013 per kilogram. Rare varieties like Thailand’s Black Ivory and Indonesia’s Kopi Luwak can sell for up to $1,500 and $1,200 per kilogram, respectively.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, emphasized the auction’s significance in solidifying Dubai’s role as a global coffee hub. “This event reinforces Dubai’s position in the coffee industry, driving growth and sustainability,” he said.

WOC Dubai 2025 is expected to attract over 13,500 visitors and 400 exhibitors, reflecting the rapid growth of the MENA coffee market, projected to reach $11.5 billion by 2025. As coffee prices hit a 47-year high due to global demand and supply challenges, the DMCC Specialty Coffee Auction will offer invaluable insights into emerging trends in the coffee world.
