The inaugural World Sports Summit will open in Dubai on 29 December under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

Organised by the Dubai Sports Council under the theme “Uniting the World Through Sport,” the two-day event will be held at Madinat Jumeirah and is expected to attract more than 1,500 participants.

The summit will bring together leading international sportspersons, experts, decision-makers, and industry leaders to discuss the future of global sports, explore emerging challenges and opportunities, and highlight the role of sport in uniting communities and inspiring future generations. His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE National Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, stated that the summit aims to provide a global platform for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration across the sports sector.

The programme features 70 speakers across inspirational speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and seminars. The opening day will include keynote speeches by senior officials and global sports leaders, including FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who will deliver a speech titled “The Next 90 Minutes.” High-profile panel discussions will feature prominent athletes such as Novak Djokovic, Ons Jabeur, Paula Badosa, Manny Pacquiao, Oleksandr Usyk, and football legend Ronaldo Nazario. Senior sports administrators, including Nasser Al Khelaifi, President of Paris Saint-Germain, will also take part.

The second day will focus on future trends and cross-industry collaboration. Sessions will include discussions led by Mixed Martial Arts legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, football icons Roberto Baggio, Alessandro Del Piero, and global sports figures from basketball and American football. Additional sessions will explore the relationship between sport, business, and fashion, as well as the development of international leagues such as the EuroLeague.

The World Sports Summit reinforces Dubai’s position as a global hub for major sporting events and strategic dialogue, while highlighting the unifying power of sport across cultures and industries.
