Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), the WORLDEF Dubai 2024 Forum commenced today.
Recognized as the world’s largest digital commerce event, the forum has attracted over 5,000 attendees from more than 40 countries, showcasing Dubai's stature as a global trade and innovation hub.
Hosted by Dubai CommerCity, the region's first free zone dedicated to digital commerce, the two-day forum brings together government officials, CEOs, and thought leaders to explore trends in e-commerce, artificial intelligence, sustainable logistics, and investment opportunities.
Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, emphasized e-commerce’s transformative role in the global economy, citing forecasts of $6.4 trillion in global sales this year. He highlighted Dubai CommerCity's pivotal role in advancing the Middle East’s digital commerce infrastructure, aligning with Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33.
Prominent speakers included Murodali Alimardon, Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan, who discussed his nation’s 2030 development strategy, and Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Chairman of Dubai CommerCity, who highlighted the sector's role in driving non-oil economic growth.
Omar Nart, CEO of WORLDEF, called the event a platform for collaboration, with the theme "Driving Global Trade Through Partnerships and Innovation." Meanwhile, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President of Dubai Chambers, outlined the UAE Digital Economy Strategy’s aim to double the sector’s GDP contribution by 2032.
The event underscores Dubai’s commitment to fostering innovation and strengthening its position as a global leader in digital commerce and trade.
