It is a popular activity for both locals and tourists alike, showcasing the vibrant and active lifestyle of the city.

Here's your complete guide to cycling in Dubai!

Cycling Tracks

Being a massive city that covers over 4,000 sqm of land, there is no shortage of cycling options for both locals and tourists alike. These tracks range from scenic routes along the canal to challenging mountain trails for more experienced cyclists.

Nad Al Sheba Cycling

Nad Al Sheba Cycle Park is a 24-hour, free, and accessible cycling trail in Dubai. It offers routes for all ages and abilities and is located near the Meydan Racecourse. Opened in May of 2023, the park provides stunning views of Downtown Dubai's skyline. Once a camel racecourse, the park has been modernized and now features after-dark guiding lights, street signs, roundabouts, and anti-skid arches. It consists of 4km to 8km loops that offer breathtaking views of the Burj Khalifa and a separate children's path. Equipped with street signs, road markings, and speed bumps, the park is one of the safest cycling trails in Dubai.

Al Qudra Cycle Track

Al Qudra is one of the top spots for camping in the city. But it's not just that; it's also a great area to explore the desert on two wheels. With over 80 kilometers of cycling tracks, it caters to both beginners and experienced cyclists. The route offers stunning views of the desert and Al Qudra Lake, and riders can spot indigenous wildlife like the Arabian Oryx. There are two main paths available for middle to long-distance riders, with options for both shorter (18km) and longer (50km) rides. Additionally, visitors can easily rent bikes on-site from Trek Bikes. The cycling paths also lead to the luxurious Bab Al Shams resort, providing a great opportunity for refreshments during the ride.

Hatta

Hatta is the ultimate spot for everything outdoor-related! From hiking and camping to rock climbing and zip-lining, there's something for everyone to enjoy in this beautiful desert oasis. The historic area is surrounded by the stunning Hajar Mountains, and they're not just for the views. If you're feeling brave, you can get on two wheels and ride the challenging 50km biking trail for an adrenaline-pumping experience.

Jumeirah Beach Bike Track

Jumeirah Beach is a popular destination for cycling enthusiasts. The 16km track provides breathtaking views of the coastline and sea, running parallel to the shoreline and extending to the Dubai Water Canal. For those seeking shorter, more leisurely routes, the Jumeirah Beach Bike Path offers a 2km trail along the sandy coast. You can complete your ride at Kite Beach and indulge in watersports or savor food at the popular Dubai-born burger spot, SALT.

Dubai Marina

Dubai Marina offers a picturesque promenade and canal perfect for casual cycling, with stunning views and plenty of restaurants, cafes, and shops. The 12.5km track, starting from Al Sufouh, crosses Dubai Internet City and Media City, providing a chance to explore the city's vibrant neighborhoods.

Cycling Events

Throughout the year, the city of Dubai hosts countless events for cyclists in the area. Since we've entered the hotter months, the number of cycling events in the city has started to significantly decrease. But not to worry, this drought won't last for long!

Soon enough, from September all the way to February, the city is bustling with cycling events. The most notable one of course is the Dubai Ride, which is a part of the Dubai 30x30 Fitness Challenge. This yearly event shuts down the city's main road, Sheikh Zayed Road, and allows cyclists of all ages to take a unique ride through Dubai, taking in the breeze and the views.

Aside from these yearly events, you can also find community races around your neighborhood area, making it a perfect activity to bond with your neighbors while enjoying a fun ride around your compound!
