Art Dubai wrapped its landmark 20th anniversary edition on 17 May with record-breaking public attendance and robust sales across all four days, reaffirming Dubai's position as the region's leading commercial art hub.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the fair drew over 25,000 visitors during its public days at Madinat Jumeirah — the highest attendance figure in the event's history. The milestone edition celebrated the artists, galleries and institutions that have shaped two decades of growth in the UAE's creative industries.
Strong sales were reported throughout the fair, with collectors, curators and institutional representatives attending from more than 20 countries, including the Netherlands, the UK, the USA, Egypt, South Africa and South Korea. Major institutions such as MoMA New York, Zeitz MOCAA and the Busan Museum of Art were among those present.
Galleries praised both the quality of engagement and the depth of local collecting. Maliha Tabari, Founder of Tabari Artspace, said sales surpassed expectations, while highlighting the level of attention visitors brought to the works on display. Taymour Grahne, whose eponymous Dubai gallery opened in 2025, sold out his booth within hours of the fair opening.
Executive Director Benedetta Ghione credited the community's turnout as a demonstration of culture's power to unite.
"This week has exceeded all expectations,"
she said, pointing to the city's diversity and creativity as central to the fair's identity.
The event was presented in partnership with A.R.M. Holding, with Dubai Culture and Arts Authority as a strategic partner.
The next edition of Art Dubai is scheduled for 7 to 11 April 2027 at Madinat Jumeirah.
