Dubai South has inked a major development agreement with Majid Al Futtaim to build a landmark AED62 billion mixed-use master community, marking one of the most significant urban development milestones in the area to date.
The agreement was signed at Dubai South's headquarters by Nabil Alkindi, Group CEO of Dubai South, and Ahmed Galal Ismail, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Holding, in the presence of senior leadership from both organisations.
Spanning 22 million square feet, the master-planned development will feature a broad mix of residential, retail, and lifestyle offerings designed to serve Dubai South's growing population and surrounding areas. At its centre will be a large shopping mall positioned to become a major retail, entertainment, and lifestyle destination for residents and visitors.
The project's location near Al Maktoum International Airport gives it a strategic edge. The airport is set to become the world's largest upon completion, and the development will benefit from direct access to key highways and major transport corridors, placing it within close reach of Dubai's core economic and logistics hubs.
Alkindi said the partnership reflects Dubai's broader economic resilience and aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which targets the development of integrated, future-ready communities that drive sustainable urban and economic growth.
Ismail echoed that confidence, saying the agreement reflects Majid Al Futtaim's long-term belief in Dubai's trajectory and its commitment to creating destinations that generate lasting economic value.
The development adds considerable weight to Dubai South's growing profile as a self-contained urban destination, reinforcing the area's role in shaping the next phase of Dubai's citywide expansion.
