Assent Steel Industries has signed a musataha agreement with Dubai Industrial City to expand its operations at the district, committing an additional AED 120 million investment over the next three years and bringing its total investment to AED 406 million.

The agreement was signed during the fifth edition of Make it in the Emirates 2026, marking a significant milestone for one of the UAE's largest structural steel fabricators. The expansion will cover approximately 2.2 million sq.ft. of new development, taking Assent Steel Industries' total hired space at the district to around 5.1 million sq.ft. The new facility is expected to be operational by Q2 2028.

The expansion will increase production capacity from roughly 100,000 tonnes per annum to around 130,000 tonnes annually, positioning the company to meet growing demand from large-scale infrastructure and energy projects across global markets.

Niall O'Connell, Managing Director of Assent Steel Industries, said the company's two-decade presence at Dubai Industrial City had been central to its growth, and that the expansion reflects its commitment to delivering complex steel structures for clients worldwide.

The upgraded facility will feature computer-controlled laser cutting systems, automated welding solutions and integrated digital workflows to enhance precision and productivity. The company holds ISO certifications and LEED Platinum accreditation, with active recycling and waste management practices embedded across its operations.

Assent Steel Industries currently employs over 3,000 personnel and exports to North America, Europe, Africa, the United Kingdom, Canada and Kazakhstan. The expansion is expected to create additional roles across engineering, fabrication and technical functions.

Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President – Industrial at TECOM Group, said the expansion reflects the confidence industrial leaders place in Dubai Industrial City as a long-term base for growth, aligned with Operation 300bn and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
