Bahrain has been ranked first in the Arab world in the World Happiness Report 2022, issued by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

According to the report’s official website, six factors were used to determine the Kingdom’s top ranking and these are:

  • GDP per capita in terms of purchasing power parity
  • life expectancy at birth
  • the level of social support
  • generosity
  • society’s perceptions of corruption and
  • freedom to make life choices.

Though, Finland ranked first as the global happiest country, Bahrain ranked as the happiest in the Arab region with a ranking of 21 in the global list. With UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait following after with a ranking of 24, 25 and 50 respectively.
