Dubai is stepping up its artificial intelligence ambitions with a major workforce initiative aimed at embedding AI across government operations.
Digital Dubai has unveiled the AI Workforce Transformation Program, known as AI+, targeting the training of 50,000 government employees to enhance future readiness and accelerate digital adoption.
Developed in collaboration with the Dubai Government Human Resources Department and the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence under the Dubai Future Foundation, the program is designed to equip employees with practical AI skills tailored to their roles. The initiative focuses on improving productivity, strengthening institutional performance, and fostering a culture of innovation across government entities.
Officials say the program marks a shift in how public sector employees engage with technology. Rather than simply using digital tools, employees are expected to actively contribute to designing smarter, more responsive government services driven by data and advanced technologies.
The training framework includes multiple tracks aligned with job functions. Leadership programs will explore AI opportunities and policy challenges, while specialised tracks for Chief AI Officers will focus on implementation strategies and governance frameworks. Managers and service owners will receive hands-on guidance on identifying use cases and integrating AI into workflows.
A broader employee track will introduce practical skills such as prompt engineering, automation using AI agents, and the use of productivity tools, delivered through a mix of workshops, webinars, and virtual courses.
The initiative supports Dubai’s long-term strategy to build a technology-driven government, strengthen AI capabilities, and reinforce its position as a global leader in digital innovation.
