Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Media Incorporated, inaugurated the 20th Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD 2024). The event is being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 23rd to 25th April.

DIHAD 2024 brings together key decision-makers from leading NGOs, UN Agencies, charity organisations, and government bodies, together with aid, education, and construction providers from the private sector, to address the needs of people and countries affected by crises, disasters, and natural calamities under the theme “Humanitarian Diplomacy and a Journey to the Future”.

Nawal Al Hosany, UAE’s Permanent Representative to IRENA, emphasizes forward-thinking humanitarianism at the 20th DIHAD conference, aiming for an inclusive future.

Amb. Dr. Abdulsalam AlMadani highlights DIHAD's proactive approach to humanitarian needs. Rashed Mubarak Almansoori of ERC emphasizes collaboration for humanitarian goals.

The DIHAD Lifetime Achievement Award was announced, and Jan Egeland received the DIHAD International Personality Award for Humanitarian Leadership. Egeland underscores the importance of humanitarian principles and protection. The "Children of DIHAD Initiative" showcases young voices in humanitarian discussions.

Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum and Belmonde Dogo Myss Logboh, Minister of National Cohesion and the fight against poverty in Côte d'Ivoire, toured the DIHAD exhibition alongside distinguished figures including Amb. Dr. Abdulsalam AlMadani, Nawal Al Hosany, Rashed Mubarak Almansoori, Maryam bin Theneya, and Mahir Abdulkarim Julfar, among others. DIHAD celebrates its 20th anniversary with Norway as the guest of honor, expecting over 16,000 participants from 154 countries. The event features 900 organizations, 131 expert speakers, and 24 main sessions covering vital humanitarian topics. Held concurrently with IECM, DIHAD facilitates collaborations and showcases emergency management solutions.
