DP World has opened Egypt's first fully integrated Logistics Distribution Centre at Sokhna Logistics Park, giving international companies a single hub to enter the Egyptian market while serving customers across the region and beyond.

The launch ceremony drew Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, senior government officials and representatives from global firms. The event also marked the first visit to Egypt by Essa Kazim since he took over as DP World Chairman, and saw agreements signed with the first three customers set to use the new facility.

The centre offers an end-to-end supply chain solution that includes international freight forwarding, port services at Sokhna Port, warehousing, customs facilitation, transportation coordination and value-added services such as packaging and product customisation. Companies can retain ownership of their inventory until final distribution, serving local, regional and international markets from one location within the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

Early customers include a Kenya-based tea exporter handling around 1,000 TEUs annually, a global consumer goods distributor supporting operations across eight markets in Saudi Arabia, the Levant and the Horn of Africa, and a German fibre-optic and digital infrastructure firm looking to strengthen distribution across Egypt, North Africa and the Gulf.

Kazim said the project reflects DP World's confidence in Egypt's potential to become a global hub for trade, industry and logistics. Mohammad Shihab, Executive Vice President for Egypt and the Levant, said the centre allows businesses to position inventory closer to customers and reinforces Egypt's role connecting Asia, Africa and Europe.

DP World has invested more than USD 1.4 billion in Egypt's logistics infrastructure, covering the expansion of Sokhna Port, development of Sokhna Logistics Park and an upcoming cold chain facility, as it deepens its footprint in the country's trade corridor.
