Dubai-based Gold Medal, the largest travel consolidator in the Middle East, has expanded its operations into Oman through its partnership with OUA Travel, one of Oman's leading travel agencies.

With both companies part of the dnata Travel Group, as part of an ongoing expansion plan for its business across the region, Oman-based trade agents will now be able to promote and sell Gold Medal's wide range of travel products, offering a new world of options to their customers, at a time when travel is once again opening up to and from the Sultanate.

Throughout its 25-year history, Dubai-based Gold Medal has been offering its expansive portfolio of scheduled flights, hotels, holidays, car hire, tours and excursions to independent travel agents in various destinations internationally, including to hundreds of agents across the UAE.

Rashid Al Awadi, Vice President - dnata Travel, Regional commented: "We are delighted to launch Gold Medal to the travel industry in Oman. Today's announcement underlines our efforts to grow and enrich our presence across the region, amidst an evolving environment.
"As traveller needs and wants continue to change in this dynamic climate, it is our aim and commitment to ensure that our trade partners in Oman and across the world are equipped with the latest technology, highest-quality booking functionality and most relevant travel content, to exceed new customer expectations and requirements."

Gold Medal is one of the Middle East's leading providers of air and non-air products to the travel trade. The company offers a complete and sophisticated online booking tool to help trade agents cater to evolving customer needs.

"We recently evolved Gold Medal's product offering to empower travel agents to book car hire and attractions, at a time where domestic travel is on the rise," Al Awadi added.

Gold Medal's multinational, multilingual customer service team provides seamless operational support, and a new team will now be based in its Oman headquarters in Muscat, to offer local advice and support.

Syed Salahuddin, General Manager of OUA Travel, concluded: "It is important for Gold Medal to have a presence in all of the markets it serves, to ensure that we are close to and in tune with the needs and wants of local customers. We look forward to supporting the travel trade in this part of the world, as travel starts to open up once again, with enhanced health and safety measures, and smooth, flexible travel front of mind." – TradeArabia News Service
