The Dubai Centre for Family Businesses, part of Dubai Chambers, convened a key session this week aimed at helping family-run enterprises secure long-term, multi-generational success.
Held as part of its ongoing ‘Governance Series,’ the event brought together 35 representatives from family businesses across Dubai. It spotlighted a global success story—Austria’s Greiner AG—and focused on practical strategies for succession planning and next-generation leadership engagement.
Greiner AG, a fifth-generation company founded in 1868, operates in over 31 countries and specialises in packaging, biotechnology, diagnostics, and foam production. Executives from the firm shared insights on how structured governance and family council involvement have helped them sustain and grow their operations across generations.
The session featured a panel discussion with Hannes Moser, Chief Financial Officer; Christoph Greiner, board member and long-time family council representative; and Dominik Greiner, who serves on both the board and family council. Their presentations offered real-world perspectives on navigating succession, building trust, and aligning business goals with family values.
The Governance Series is designed to equip Dubai’s family businesses with tools to overcome common challenges, drive sustainable growth, and learn from international benchmarks. It also fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing between local and global enterprises, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a hub for resilient, future-focused family businesses.
