Dubai Chamber of Commerce, under the Dubai Chambers umbrella, has awarded the prestigious Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Label to 27 leading companies for their exemplary adoption of sustainable business practices.

The announcement was made during the chamber's annual Sustainability Week, held from October 7 to 11, 2024.

Among the awardees are prominent names such as ADNOC Distribution, ALEC Engineering and Contracting, Aramex, Majid Al Futtaim, and Emirates NBD. These companies have demonstrated outstanding commitment to sustainable development, contributing positively to society and the environment while promoting sound governance.

Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, highlighted the significance of the ESG Label, stating,

“The Dubai Chamber of Commerce ESG Label encourages businesses to embrace sustainability and responsible governance, recognizing their efforts to advance sustainable practices.”

The ESG Label, developed by the chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business, is based on global best practices and tailored to meet local and international reporting standards. It serves as a benchmark for companies to evaluate their ESG maturity and readiness.

Sustainability Week 2024 also focuses on the role of advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence, in accelerating sustainability efforts. Organized by the Centre for Responsible Business, the event underscores the chamber's ongoing commitment to fostering a sustainable business ecosystem in Dubai.

By promoting responsible business practices, Dubai Chamber of Commerce aims to enhance the competitiveness and social impact of companies, driving the emirate’s vision of a sustainable future.
