Dubai CommerCity has announced an enhanced integration with its cross-border e-commerce platform, bringing together Dubai Customs, Dubai Municipality and NAQEL Express to streamline digital trade and accelerate the movement of goods across borders.

The platform, built on blockchain technology, automates the entire trade journey from order placement and customs clearance through to final delivery, delivering greater transparency, traceability and operational efficiency for businesses operating across the ecosystem.

Dubai CommerCity, the region's first free zone dedicated exclusively to digital commerce and a joint venture between the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) and Wasl Properties, is central to the initiative, connecting free zones with logistics and e-commerce providers through a unified digital infrastructure.

Abdulrahman Shahin, Senior Vice President of Operations at Dubai CommerCity, said the integration marked a significant step in linking free zones, regulatory authorities and logistics providers to enable seamless cross-border trade, in line with the UAE's Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme.

Dubai Customs framed the platform as a continuation of its smart trade facilitation efforts, with Director of Client Happiness Matar Al Muhairi noting it is designed to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency while reinforcing Dubai's standing as a global trade hub.

Dubai Municipality reaffirmed its focus on balancing product safety with streamlined procedures, while NAQEL Express reported measurable gains in processing time and supply chain efficiency as a direct result of the integration.

The initiative is expected to attract high-value investment, encourage global players to establish regional distribution hubs in Dubai and strengthen the emirate's position as a leading centre for digital trade and supply chain innovation.
