Dubai Customs has unveiled its Strategic Plan 2026-2030 under the theme "Enabling Trusted Trade... Enabling the Economy," setting out a roadmap to boost Dubai's competitiveness and cement the emirate's status as a global trade hub.

The plan was announced at an event held on the sidelines of the Arab Media Summit 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre. Abdulla bin Damithan, Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, and Dr Abdulla Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs, presented the strategy to senior officials and media representatives.

The framework rests on six strategic objectives, ten sub objectives and 26 initiatives to be rolled out through 2030. It focuses on facilitating trade, strengthening security and compliance, securing revenues, advancing economic partnerships, elevating stakeholder experience and embedding organizational excellence.

A central pillar of the plan is the integration of ports, entry points, free zones and trade related services, aimed at creating a more seamless experience for traders and investors while reinforcing Dubai's position as a global gateway.

Bin Damithan said the strategy strengthens integration across the Corporation's entities and sharpens their ability to respond to shifts in global trade flows and markets. He added that the plan reinforces investor confidence in Dubai as a destination for growth and expansion.

Dr Busenad said the new plan links the efficiency of customs services more directly to trade flows and business growth while continuing to safeguard society and revenues. He noted that faster, more transparent procedures allow businesses to plan and expand with greater confidence.

Dubai Customs has adopted a new vision built around innovation and global connectivity, supported by six corporate values covering integrity, loyalty, pioneering spirit, cooperation, empowerment and excellence. The strategy positions the department to anticipate changes in supply chains and support the wider competitiveness of Dubai's economy.
