The emirate-level Elections Committees are among the most important executive bodies of the National Elections Committee. Working closely with the Elections Management Committee, they handle the technical and administrative aspects of the Federal National Council elections in each emirate. One of their most important tasks is to receive the final electoral college lists and notify its members as well as provide the forms necessary for the electoral process at the headquarters.
Additionally, the committees coordinate with the municipality to determine the locations for displaying the candidates’ campaign advertisements. Their responsibilities also include proposing election centres in the emirate in coordination with the Elections Management Committee, identifying locations for candidate seminars and meetings with electoral college members, receiving and verifying the eligibility of candidate applications, monitoring adherence to campaign rules and regulations in the emirate, reporting any violations to the Elections Management Committee, and contributing to campaigns to raise awareness about the electoral process.
