Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) has unveiled two new sandboxes under the Dubai Sandbox initiative, designed to drive innovation and regulatory progress in the gig economy and PropTech sectors.
Dubai Sandbox, a centralized platform for regulatory modernization, allows businesses and innovators to test products, services, and business models under flexible regulatory supervision. The initiative, recently approved by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of DFF, is a vital component of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to double the city's economy in the next decade.
The Gig Economy Sandbox focuses on exploring more flexible work structures, adapting regulations to meet future demands. Meanwhile, the PropTech Sandbox is aimed at fostering technological advancement within Dubai's real estate sector, enhancing its sustainability, efficiency, and accessibility.
Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of DFF, emphasized that Sandbox Dubai promotes collaboration between public and private sectors, creating a dynamic environment for innovation. He noted that the initiative helps accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies and business models, reinforcing Dubai's position as a global leader in future-focused practices.
The Dubai Sandbox initiative continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Dubai’s path toward becoming a leading economy of the future.
