The Dubai Gold Designers Business Group has outlined a new strategic direction aimed at expanding international market access for Dubai-based jewellery designers and raising their global visibility.
Operating under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, the Group represents 50 members across jewellery design, entrepreneurship and related creative businesses. Its strategy rests on three pillars covering education and member development, business development and partnerships, and international representation and visibility. Members will have access to workshops, masterclasses, business matchmaking and selected international platforms, while keeping the independence and identity of their own brands.
The Group is also exploring a three-year International Representation Programme. The first year would establish the model and pilot collective representation abroad. The second would widen partnerships and engagement with buyers and international media. The third would assess commercial and reputational impact and set a long-term funding and expansion model.
Events would be chosen on buyer quality, market access, export potential, media reach, sector reputation and cost-effectiveness. Participation would depend on business readiness, product quality, professional standards and regulatory compliance.
Success will be judged on tangible results rather than attendance. The Group will track qualified buyer meetings, retailer and distributor introductions, leads and orders, export opportunities, partnerships and media exposure.
Chairwoman Maha Al Sibai said the aim is to give designers greater access to "relationships, knowledge and international platforms" that support sustainable growth, while ensuring their presence abroad reflects Dubai's strength in creativity and craftsmanship.
The new direction builds on earlier engagement linked to Mumbai, Jaipur and Bangkok, as well as professional development initiatives in Bahrain and Florence. Its membership includes women founders, independent professionals and emerging entrepreneurs, whom the strategy also seeks to support.
