Dubai: Indians with US Green Card or UK/EU Residence Visa Must Apply Online for Pre-Approved Visa on Arrival
Indian nationals with an ordinary passport and a US green card or a residence visa from the UK or European Union must now apply online for a pre-approved visa-on-arrival to enter the UAE as visitors for 14 days, according to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai. This visa can be extended once for an additional 14 days.
Previously granted upon arrival, eligible Indian travelers must now apply online through the GDRFA website, register their details, fulfill requirements, and pay a fee of Dh253. The visa will be emailed to the applicant within 48 hours.
Requirements for the visa application include:
- A valid passport or travel document with at least six months' validity.
- A permanent residence card (green card) issued by the USA or a residence visa issued by the UK or EU countries.
- A personal photo with a white background.
Terms and conditions:
- No entry restrictions should be on the traveler.
- The passport must be valid for at least six months.
- The US green card or UK/EU residence visa must be valid for at least six months.
In February, Emirates announced a pre-approved visa-on-arrival service for some Indian passport holders traveling with the airline, processed by the Dubai Visa Processing Centre (DVPC) - VFS Global. The issuance of visas remains at the discretion of the GDRFA.
