The Dubai International Marine Club has strengthened Dubai’s position in high-speed marine technology by receiving three innovation accreditations from the Global Innovation Institute.

The awards recognise advancements in the escape hatch mechanism, engine mount systems, and seat suspension systems of the Club’s locally manufactured Victory boats.

The certificates were presented to Khaled bin Desmal, Board Member of DIMC, and Ahmad Al Sumaiti, Director of Sports Teams, by Mohannad Shaheen, Regional Representative of GInI, with Dr. Tarek Al Khayat, CEO of Ruad Consulting, in attendance.

Khaled bin Desmal highlighted the UAE leadership’s support for marine sports and praised the Victory development team’s dedication. He said the locally produced boats in Jebel Ali reflect Dubai’s commitment to innovation and have become a global reference for high-speed marine technology.

The technical recognition complements the team’s recent sporting achievements. Team Abu Dhabi Victory captured the Formula 1 World Championship title for the first time, winning both the Teams’ and Drivers’ titles, with Shaun Torrente claiming the drivers’ crown.

Additionally, the Victory Team reclaimed the XCAT World Championship following the Dubai Grand Prix off Jumeirah’s coastline, with Emirati drivers Salem Al Adaidi and Issa Al Ali steering Victory 7 to victory.

Over its history, the Victory Team has amassed 28 world titles and numerous race victories, underlining sustained excellence and global competitiveness. The latest awards and sporting triumphs reinforce DIMC’s dual legacy in innovation and high-performance marine sports, cementing Dubai’s status as a leader in the field.
