Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) opened 2026 on a firm footing, reporting a net profit after tax of AED1.799 billion for the first quarter — virtually unchanged from the same period last year but underpinned by robust revenue growth and a strengthening income base.

Operating revenues climbed 13 percent year-on-year to AED3.548 billion, while operating profit rose 12 percent to AED2.546 billion. Pre-tax profit reached AED2.126 billion, reflecting one percent annual growth. The results point to a bank firing steadily across all fronts despite a competitive operating environment.

Total assets stood at AED419.916 billion at the end of March 2026, with net financing assets and sukuk investments reaching AED364 billion. Customer deposits grew to AED322 billion, up one percent since the start of the year.

Non-funded income was a standout performer, surging 30 percent to AED1.249 billion — a signal of the bank's deliberate push toward diversified revenue streams. Funded income also expanded, rising 5 percent to AED2.3 billion.

Capital and liquidity positions remained well above regulatory thresholds. The Common Equity Tier 1 ratio held at 12.6 percent, the capital adequacy ratio at 15.8 percent, while the liquidity coverage ratio stood at 121 percent.

Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Chairman of DIB, said the results reflect the broader strength of the UAE economy, with the bank's performance guided by scale, discipline and strategic consistency.

Group CEO Dr. Adnan Chilwan noted that the bank entered 2026 with strong momentum, pointing to the balanced growth across both income streams as evidence of an expanding and increasingly diversified business.
