The Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) has launched GenDubAI, a digital platform that helps parents understand how their children use artificial intelligence and guide them in using it safely, responsibly and creatively.
Developed with the Community Development Authority (CDA) and Dubai Future Foundation, the platform is described as the first of its kind. It supports the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the UAE’s Year of the Family by giving parents a way to stay involved in their children’s learning and development.
GenDubAI offers practical, interactive content that reflects UAE values and culture. It introduces parents to the fundamentals, principles and tools of AI, highlights both opportunities and challenges, and supports critical thinking and creativity in children. The platform is available in Arabic and English, is designed for families with children aged 8 to 15, and has a mobile-friendly version.
Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director-General of the CDA, said AI is now part of everyday life for younger generations, which places responsibility on families and society to raise awareness and instil values. She said the platform puts families at the centre of the AI learning journey.
Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, noted that the UAE is among the world’s leading adopters of AI, alongside rising smart-device use among children. He said knowledge of safe and responsible AI use is one of the greatest gifts parents can give their children.
Saeed Al Falasi, Executive Director of DCAI, said the platform lets children benefit from AI under direct parental guidance and helps families follow their progress. It is built around the idea of “family moments”, encouraging everyday conversations about AI at home.
DCAI said the platform will keep evolving with new content, tools and educational pathways as AI advances and family needs change.
