Alphabet’s Google has rolled out its Gemini 4 Argon artificial intelligence model to developers and businesses worldwide, offering a lower-cost option for companies building autonomous AI agents.
The company said the model is designed to excel at “deep work”, meaning complex, multi-step tasks that require sustained reasoning. Google highlighted coding, finance, law, cybersecurity and science as key areas of focus.
The release is aimed at developers and businesses that want to build agents capable of carrying out extended tasks with limited human input. By positioning the model as a cheaper alternative, Google is targeting organisations that want to deploy agentic AI at scale without the higher costs usually attached to advanced systems.
The launch adds to the growing competition among major technology companies to supply the models that power the next generation of AI agents.
