Dubai witnessed the launch of the “Welcome to Türkiye” initiative yesterday during the Türkiye Tourism Forum 2024, organised by the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) in Dubai.

The forum aims to promote tourist destinations, explore the Republic of Türkiye's tourist attractions, and enhance tourism cooperation with travel companies in the UAE.

The event saw the participation of representatives from several Turkish and Emirati tourism, travel, and aviation companies, including Dnata, alongside the attendance of Onur Saylan, Consul-General of the Republic of Türkiye in Dubai and the Northern Emirates; Saleh Özar, Turkish Cultural Attaché, Kanat Kutluk, President of the Turkish Business Council, and numerous representatives from tourism and travel companies in both countries.

Ozan Ortac, Director of External Relations at the Turkish Tourism Development and Promotion Agency, highlighted the launch of new tourist destinations as part of the initiative, including historical and cultural sites, as well as ski resorts. He emphasised Türkiye's strong interest in the UAE market.

Turkish Airlines revealed that the number of its flights has reached 345 destinations across 130 countries worldwide, with 38 weekly flights between Türkiye and the UAE, including 28 to Dubai and 10 to Abu Dhabi.

Several sessions, workshops, and promotional presentations were held for the Turkish tourism sector, catering to the UAE market, with a focus on sustainable eco-tourism. Discussions also explored the possibility of increasing the number of tourist flights and cooperation opportunities in the tourism sector between the two countries.
