Dubai Mallathon has concluded its second edition with more than 160,000 participants recording over 290 million steps across malls and major destinations in Dubai, reinforcing the initiative’s role in promoting everyday physical activity across the community.

Held from June 15 to September 15 under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the initiative was organised by the Dubai Sports Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence.

The three-month programme brought walking, running and community sports activities to more than eight destinations. Dubai International Airport, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and Ibn Battuta Mall joined the initiative for the first time, alongside Dubai Mall, Dubai Hills Mall, City Centre Mirdif, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Festival City Mall and City Centre Deira.

The programme featured more than 14 weekly races, family activities and dedicated events, including activities marking Emirati Women’s Day. Its closing programme at Dubai Mall included full and half-marathons, attracting both professional and amateur runners.

Khalfan Juma Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, said the strong response reflected the initiative’s ability to bring people together through sport and encourage regular physical activity.

Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, said the initiative demonstrated how strategic objectives could be translated into community-focused sporting activities.

Dubai Mallathon was launched in 2025 in support of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033. Its first edition set a Guinness World Record after more than 1,300 participants took part in a single running race inside Dubai Hills Mall.
