Dubai Maritime Authority (DMA) has taken a key step toward strengthening the emirate’s marine tourism sector by holding a dedicated workshop with representatives from marinas across Dubai.
The session focused on improving service standards, streamlining regulations, and building a unified operational framework to support sustainable growth in maritime tourism.
Held under the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, the workshop brought together stakeholders to discuss the operational and regulatory requirements for marina services. It is part of DMA’s broader strategy to position Dubai as a premier destination for luxury marine experiences, while making it easier for investors and entrepreneurs to engage with the sector.
Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, CEO of DMA, stressed the importance of public-private collaboration in driving innovation and sustainability.
“We believe in the value of forging strong partnerships with the private sector to develop innovative, sustainable solutions,”
he said.
“We are proud of the role each marina plays in helping us realise this shared vision.”
Key topics included the procedures for passenger pick-up and drop-off, permissible service durations, and standardised response times. The session also explored the development of smart digital platforms to facilitate seamless communication between marinas and sea-goers.
DMA’s directors showcased a range of digital solutions designed to modernise and simplify service delivery, with a particular focus on "Passenger Pick-up/Drop-off" and "Dock & Dine" services. These tools aim to enhance customer experience, improve efficiency, and boost Dubai’s appeal to international maritime visitors.
The workshop concluded with an open Q&A session, during which participants provided recommendations to further refine marina operations. The initiative underscores DMA’s commitment to elevating Dubai’s marine tourism infrastructure through innovation and strategic stakeholder engagement.
