Dubai has taken a major step toward strengthening its media ecosystem, with a series of agreements signed on the closing day of the Arab Media Summit 2026 aimed at building capabilities and nurturing young talent in content creation.
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, witnessed the signing of the Memoranda of Understanding, which brought together the Dubai Media Council, the Government of Dubai Media Office and the Dubai Press Club with a range of government, national and academic institutions.
The agreements were signed by Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, alongside leaders from the United Arab Emirates University, Dubai Municipality, the Supreme Legislation Committee, Dubai Courts, Dubai Customs, ENOC, the University of Dubai, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University and the Higher Colleges of Technology.
Many of the partnerships fall under the Dubai Content Creators Programme, which is designed to prepare a new generation of specialised content creators across fields including safety, law, customs and retail. Each collaborating institution will contribute its own expertise, from legal research to supply chain security, to help creators translate complex knowledge into accessible public content.
Al Marri said the value of such partnerships extends beyond their immediate outcomes, helping to build long-term capabilities and more integrated ways of working across sectors.
Academic leaders involved in the signings pointed to the growing need to align education with the rapidly evolving media landscape, particularly as artificial intelligence and digital platforms reshape how content is created and consumed.
The MoUs reflect a broader push by Dubai's media institutions to deepen ties with government and academic bodies, reinforcing the emirate's ambition to remain a leading global hub for media, content creation and innovation.
