Dubai Municipality has reorganised 20 services for individuals and businesses as part of efforts to simplify procedures, improve efficiency and provide a more seamless customer experience.

The initiative aligns with Dubai’s Services 360 Policy and focuses on reducing unnecessary steps while ensuring services are delivered through the most appropriate government entity or operating model.

As part of the changes, the operating models of 13 services have been modified. Several requests have been integrated into existing services, converted into procedures or reports, or discontinued where separate services are no longer required.

Requests related to stormwater drainage connection points, building maintenance in historic areas and interior design approvals for historic buildings have been incorporated into relevant building licensing services. Residential land allocation requests for UAE nationals have been integrated into services provided by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment.

Permits for agricultural activities will now be provided as instant approvals through the commercial licensing service of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.

Four standalone requests have also been discontinued, including certain technical reports, structural assessments requested by government entities, certificate of conformity attestations and specialised training services previously provided by Dubai Central Laboratory.

Another seven specialised services have been transferred to the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority to improve government integration and clarify responsibilities. These cover areas including groundwater wells, environmental permits, marine data, agricultural soil, recreational fishing and activities within nature reserves.

Manal Bin Yaarouf, Director of the Customer Happiness Department at Dubai Municipality, said the changes are designed to reduce the time, effort and procedures required to access government services.

Through the restructuring, Dubai Municipality aims to create clearer service pathways, reduce duplication and improve operational efficiency while keeping customer needs at the centre of service design.

The initiative forms part of the Municipality’s ongoing review of its service portfolio to improve government service quality and customer satisfaction.
