It's the region's first comprehensive study, detailing podcasting's growth, global comparisons, development opportunities, and recommendations. The release occurred during a press conference attended by media professionals and creators.

Dr. Maitha Buhumaid, Director of the Dubai Press Club, highlights the significance of a new report on the regional podcast industry, emphasizing Dubai's proactive approach to industry growth and innovation. The report identifies challenges, opportunities, and actionable steps to advance the digital audio content sector, fostering collaboration and creativity.

Mahfoudha Saleh of Dubai Press Club highlights a report detailing challenges and opportunities in podcasting, crucial for industry leaders to boost the sector. With global growth projections, Dubai aims to reinforce its status as a media hub by collaborating with stakeholders to navigate this evolving landscape effectively.

The newly released Dubai Press Club Study was based on responses to an online questionnaire that targeted a sample of 60 podcasters in the Arab world. The trends and generalisations from the quantitative component of the study informed the qualitative aspect of the study, which featured a focus group of 16 prominent Arab podcasters from 11 Arab countries.

A study finds Arabic podcasts more influential than English ones in the Arab world, especially in local dialects. Anticipating a rise in podcast listeners, particularly in the Gulf, with the UAE leading, it suggests industry standards, financial sustainability, and training programs to capitalize on opportunities for growth.

The key recommendations of the study include the creation of more Arabic podcast content that is diverse, creative, and specialised. It also recommends the establishment of high quality standards and the adoption of best practices. The study highlights the need to create more podcasting platforms and applications that specifically cater to the needs and expectations of Arab audiences.

The report further says that supporting Arab podcasters in creating viable business models and monetisation strategies is critical to promoting the growth of the industry. The study also emphasises the importance of collaboration to establish a vibrant community of Arab podcasters.
