Dubai Press Club has announced a strategic partnership with United Arab Emirates University, appointing the institution as the Academic Partner for the 2026 edition of the Arab Media Summit, in a move aimed at deepening collaboration between academia and the media industry.
The announcement comes as UAEU marks its Golden Jubilee, celebrating 50 years of contributions to higher education, research, and national development.
The Arab Media Summit 2026 will be held from March 31 to April 2 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, under the patronage of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and under the directives of Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting the transformation of the media sector while strengthening cooperation between educational institutions and media organisations. It also underscores Dubai’s role as a regional and global platform for media dialogue, industry development, and future-focused digital innovation.
Through the collaboration, UAEU will contribute its research expertise, academic programmes, and talent development capabilities to enhance the Summit’s academic and knowledge dimension. The initiative will also provide students and academics with opportunities to engage directly with international media leaders and decision-makers.
Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Chancellor of UAEU, said the university’s involvement in the Summit aligns with its national mission and long-standing support for Arab media as a driver of knowledge, cultural dialogue, and social awareness. He noted that the future of media and education are increasingly interconnected, with universities playing a central role in shaping critical thinkers and future media leaders capable of navigating a rapidly evolving global information environment.
He added that UAEU’s participation will highlight its growing work in digital media research, applications of artificial intelligence in mass communication, and efforts to develop a new generation of media professionals equipped for the digital era.
Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, congratulated UAEU on its Golden Jubilee, describing the milestone as a testament to five decades of advancing knowledge and nurturing talent in the UAE.
She said the partnership strengthens the Summit’s impact and reflects the importance of collaboration between national institutions in driving media growth and talent development, particularly as the sector undergoes rapid change driven by digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and accelerating content innovation.
As part of its role, UAEU will deliver an integrated knowledge programme during the Summit, including dialogue sessions, panel discussions, and specialised training workshops. An interactive platform will also facilitate the exchange of practical experiences among academics, students, and media professionals.
The partnership supports broader national efforts to integrate higher education with the media sector, contribute to a sustainable knowledge economy, and prepare future media professionals with advanced skills, research capabilities, and strong professional values.
