Dubai reinforced its position as a leading global business events destination during its participation at IMEX Frankfurt, where the city showcased its expanding meetings and conventions ecosystem alongside major industry milestones and record international rankings.
Led by Dubai Business Events, part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai’s delegation included 20 partners spanning hotels, venues and destination management companies. Participants included Dubai World Trade Centre, Coca-Cola Arena, Museum of the Future and JW Marriott Marquis Dubai.
The city’s growing international standing was further underlined by new rankings from the International Congress and Convention Association, which placed Dubai first globally for average attendees per association conference in 2025 and first in the Middle East for the total number of association conferences hosted. Dubai also secured the top position among the Top 25 Meeting Destinations in the Middle East and Africa by Cvent.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, said business events continue to support Dubai’s long-term economic ambitions by driving knowledge exchange, industry collaboration and global connectivity under the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
Dubai’s momentum was also reflected in its event pipeline. In 2025, Dubai Business Events secured 504 successful bids for events scheduled through 2029, expected to attract more than 272,000 delegates. Major wins include the SWIFT Annual Conference and Exhibition SIBOS 2029, SPE ATCE Annual Congress 2028 and the World Engineers Congress 2027.
