Dubai World Trade Centre, RTA, and Dubai Police Collaborate for Smooth Citywide Operations at GITEX Global 2024
Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has announced the completion of comprehensive preparations for GITEX Global 2024, the world’s largest tech and startup event.
Taking place at DWTC from October 14 to 18 and Dubai Harbour from October 13 to 16, the event is set to welcome tens of thousands of local and international visitors. In collaboration with the Dubai Events Security Committee, Dubai Police, and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), DWTC has implemented extensive security and operational plans to ensure a smooth experience for all participants.
His Excellency Major General Abdulla Ali Al Ghaithi, Head of the Dubai Event Security Committee, confirmed that Dubai Police has coordinated with government and private entities to ensure the event's success. Special attention has been given to traffic management, parking solutions, and public transport to accommodate the high visitor volume.
Abdulrahman Obaid Abu Al Shawareb, EVP of Protocol and Security at DWTC, emphasized the importance of collaboration, urging attendees to utilize public transport to enhance sustainability and reduce congestion.
RTA’s CEO, Hussain Al Banna, confirmed thousands of parking spaces across key locations and shuttle buses to transport visitors. Additionally, metro services and a dedicated taxi area will ensure efficient transport.
At Dubai Harbour, thousands of parking spaces and marine transport options will facilitate smooth access, with shuttle buses transporting visitors between the Harbour and DWTC. Smart traffic systems will manage real-time traffic adjustments at both venues, ensuring seamless traffic flow throughout GITEX Global 2024.
