LAHAB, the UAE’s exclusive munitions manufacturer and a subsidiary of EDGE Group, has entered a strategic partnership with Türkiye’s ASSAN Group to co-develop innovative ammunition solutions.
The partnership, marked by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), was signed at SAHA EXPO 2024 in Istanbul.
Under the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on the development of new ammunition types and establish a reliable supply chain for essential energetic materials. ASSAN will also support LAHAB in upgrading its manufacturing facilities, enhancing production efficiency to better meet the growing demands of its customers.
Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE Group, emphasized the importance of the partnership in achieving strategic independence.
“ASSAN Group has become an important partner in ensuring mission readiness for our customers. This collaboration will drive innovation and maintain a competitive, world-class munitions industry,”
he said.
ASSAN Group Chairman, Emin Öner, highlighted the ongoing global supply chain challenges since the COVID-19 pandemic and the critical role of ASSAN in overcoming these issues.
“This MoU positions ASSAN as a global solution partner, particularly in the supply of energetic materials for the defence industry,”
he noted.
The partnership aligns with EDGE’s Industry 4.0 roadmap and its goal of expanding strategic cooperation with the Turkish defence sector, promoting mutual industrial growth and innovation.
