Emirates Health Services (EHS), through Saqr Hospital, has relaunched its early breast cancer screening campaign for the second consecutive year.

This initiative, in collaboration with Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP), operates under the slogan "Initiate Action, Receive Hope" and aims to elevate health awareness while promoting preventive care across the UAE.

Running from August to November 26th, the campaign will provide free screenings to women aged 40 and above. This year, 20 mobile clinics equipped with mammography and ultrasound machines will be deployed, doubling the previous year's fleet. These clinics will offer top-notch diagnostic services, including clinical exams and specialised tests, alongside educational sessions on the importance of early detection and self-examination techniques.

Dr. Essam Al Zarooni, Acting Executive Director of the Clinical Services Sector at EHS, stressed the significance of early detection in the fight against breast cancer, urging women to utilize the free screenings. This initiative aligns with the "We the UAE 2031" vision, which seeks to enhance the nation's quality of life.

Dr. Muna Al Ayyan, Director of Saqr Hospital, announced the campaign's expansion to Ajman and Umm Al Quwain, broadening its reach beyond Ras Al Khaimah. The campaign will also feature Pink Friday events in October and follow up with last year’s participants, ensuring widespread participation and impact.
