Emirates Airlines has announced a significant partnership with Asia Rugby, becoming the Title Sponsor in a multi-year agreement aimed at enhancing the sport's reach across the continent.

This collaboration will see Emirates support the organization and investment in both the 7s and 15s series tournaments, as well as the Asia Rugby Championships, involving participation from 36 countries.

Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, expressed pride in the airline’s long-standing support for rugby, highlighting its involvement in global tournaments such as the Rugby World Cup and the Emirates Dubai 7s. “This partnership allows us to deepen our commitment to rugby, creating opportunities for young athletes and expanding the sport into new markets,” Clark stated.

Qais Al-Dhalai, President of Asia Rugby, welcomed Emirates' support, emphasizing its significance in expanding rugby's reach.

“This collaboration will empower athletes and build a passionate fanbase across our 36 member countries,”

he remarked, noting the UAE’s role as the headquarters of Asia Rugby.

Under this agreement, Emirates will sponsor various competitions, including the Asia Rugby Men’s and Women’s Championships and the Asia Rugby Sevens Series. The airline's ‘Fly Better’ branding will prominently feature on official jerseys, match balls, and stadium signage across 21 tournaments over the next three years.

The partnership kicks off with the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Series Men’s and Women’s Round 2, set to take place on September 21, 2024, in Hangzhou, China, where top teams will compete for crucial ranking spots ahead of the final round in Bangkok in November.
