Emirates has signed a technical and training consultancy agreement with GE Aerospace to develop advanced piece part component repair capabilities for GE90 and GP7200 engines, reinforcing the airline's push to build world-class maintenance infrastructure in Dubai.

The agreement was signed at Emirates Group Headquarters by Adel Al Redha, Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Operating Officer, and Mohamed Ali, President and CEO of Commercial Engines and Services at GE Aerospace.

Under the deal, GE Aerospace will provide technical consultancy and knowledge transfer to the Emirates Engine Maintenance Centre (EEMC), supporting the setup of a dedicated component repair line along with best practice benchmarks for repair operations. The partnership forms a key part of Emirates' $300 million investment to expand the EEMC's infrastructure and overhaul capabilities.

The GE90 and GP7200 engines power Emirates' Boeing 777 and a portion of its Airbus A380 fleet — two of the most significant aircraft types in the airline's operations.

Al Redha said the agreement would equip the EEMC workforce with specialised skills and position Emirates Engineering as a centre of excellence for engine repairs, delivering efficient and seamless serviceability across its fleet.

Ali described Emirates as a valued partner and said GE Aerospace was proud to support the airline's expanding repair capabilities, adding that the agreement reflects a long-term commitment to supporting customers throughout the full lifecycle of their fleets.

Established in 2014, the Emirates Engine Maintenance Centre currently provides repair and maintenance services for engines across the airline's fleet. Emirates Engineering supports a fleet of over 270 Boeing 777, Airbus A380 and Airbus A350 aircraft from its facilities in Dubai.
