MedLab Training Institute has launched a new surgical training facility at Dubai Science Park, bringing cadaveric and simulation-based medical education to the heart of one of the region's premier science ecosystems.
The UAE-based institute was established to meet rising demand for hands-on clinical training among healthcare professionals seeking to sharpen procedural skills and adopt advanced surgical techniques. The facility is designed to support between 1,000 and 1,500 healthcare professionals annually, ranging from early-career practitioners to consultants and specialists.
Training programmes are led by international faculty and regional experts affiliated with leading teaching hospitals and universities across Europe, North America and the Middle East. Most programmes run over one to three days, with intensive hands-on sessions of up to eight hours per day, covering disciplines including orthopaedics and spine, sports surgery, and maxillofacial and reconstructive procedures.
The facility combines cadaveric training laboratories, advanced audiovisual systems and dedicated teaching spaces. Cadaveric training forms the core of the institute's approach, allowing clinicians to work on real human anatomy in a controlled setting to build surgical precision and confidence.
"This facility acts as an enabler to deliver structured, hands-on programmes that support the continuous development of healthcare professionals across the region,"
said Dr. Bilal El-Yafawi, CEO of MedLab Training Institute.
Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Science Park, said the facility contributes directly to improving clinical capability and supports better patient care outcomes, aligning with the UAE's 2031 vision and Dubai's D33 economic agenda.
MedLab plans to expand its programme portfolio and deepen partnerships with healthcare institutions over the next two to three years, positioning the centre as a regional hub for advanced surgical training.
