Arab Media Summit 2026 has opened its doors to more than 90 young volunteers, giving them a direct hand in organising and running the region's largest media gathering.

The initiative is part of a broader push to equip young people with practical skills and set them up for future careers. By pulling volunteers into different parts of the three-day event, the Summit is putting Dubai's youth investment strategy into practice, creating a space where young people learn by doing, build real capabilities, and work alongside professionals across the industry.

Volunteers will be involved in preparations and on-site operations for the full run of the Summit, which opens September 15 at Dubai World Trade Centre. Organised by the Dubai Press Club, this year's event brings together over 400 speakers from 23 countries across 175+ sessions, with roughly 10,000 media professionals and industry figures expected to attend.

An event of this size gives volunteers a rare look at how a major international gathering actually comes together. Placed in specialised teams, they'll pick up hands-on experience in coordination, communication, teamwork and quick problem-solving, while helping run the logistics and operations behind the scenes.

Jassem Al Salty, a member of the Arab Media Summit Organising Committee, said involving young people in the Summit's organisation reflects the Dubai Press Club's commitment to Dubai's wider approach to empowering the next generation. He noted that the experience lets volunteers learn by taking part in every side of the event, building practical skills, industry knowledge, and the confidence to move their careers forward.

Mohamed Khadim, also a member of the Organising Committee, said the Summit puts young volunteers right in the middle of a fast-changing media industry. It gives them direct access to leading media professionals and industry figures from the region and abroad, letting them learn from real experience, ask questions, make professional connections, and get a clearer sense of where the sector is heading.

Their involvement points to a bigger pattern: major Dubai events doubling as talent pipelines, giving young people a real stake in shaping what comes next.
