Emirates SkyCargo has partnered with US-focused airfreight platform Pelicargo, becoming the first Middle Eastern carrier to establish direct API connectivity with the marketplace — enabling instant, round-the-clock bookings for freight forwarders across the United States.
The move is part of a broader digital push by the cargo arm of Emirates, which has seen a marked shift among its US customer base away from manual transactions and toward digital booking channels over the past year. By listing on Pelicargo, Emirates SkyCargo gains access to thousands of new customers in one of its key markets.
Five core products are available on the platform from launch: Fresh and Fresh Breathe for perishables requiring cool chain management, Pharma for temperature-sensitive healthcare shipments, Airfreight Priority for time-critical cargo, and AirFreight for general goods.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, said the integration was a natural progression of the airline's digitalisation strategy.
"As we enter our next phase of growth, digitalisation will continue to underpin our operations with the goal to provide flexible, efficient solutions to our global customers,"
he said.
Jon Acquaviva, Co-Founder and President of Pelicargo, described the partnership as a strong alignment of values.
"We share a common vision: putting customers at the center and delivering locally relevant, digitally connected solutions that make air cargo faster and more accessible,"
he said.
Pelicargo becomes the fourth digital marketplace to carry Emirates SkyCargo's capacity, joining cargo.one, CargoAi and WebCargo. Together, these platforms give customers real-time visibility on schedules, rates and available capacity — wherever they choose to book.
