Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, has inaugurated an advanced Command Control Centre (CCC) at its new Dubai headquarters, marking a significant upgrade to its digital operational infrastructure.
H.E. Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, officially opened the facility, which is designed to monitor and manage the company's plant networks across Dubai around the clock. The centre is built to sustain a 99.99% network reliability rate, reinforcing Empower's position as a leader in smart utility management.
The CCC operates on an integrated platform combining artificial intelligence, big data analytics and Internet of Things technologies. Real-time data is displayed across interactive screens, giving operators a comprehensive view of all operational processes and enabling faster responses to performance changes or service disruptions.
A key feature of the centre is its predictive maintenance capability, which allows the system to detect potential malfunctions before they develop into failures. This proactive approach is expected to reduce unplanned downtime, improve energy efficiency and cut carbon emissions in line with the UAE's broader sustainability agenda.
The facility is fully integrated with Empower's existing operational systems, including SCADA, energy management and security platforms. Advanced analytical dashboards further support strategic decision-making by allowing management to track key performance indicators and operational trends.
Bin Shafar described the centre as a forward step in building a smarter, more flexible operating model capable of meeting Dubai's growing demand for district cooling services.
The CCC adds to Empower's expanding portfolio of digital technologies, which includes smart metering, automated systems and thermal energy storage solutions deployed across its 90 plants citywide.
