flydubai has begun daily operations to Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok, becoming the airline's second destination in Thailand after Krabi and adding fresh capacity to one of Southeast Asia's busiest travel corridors.

The inaugural flight departed from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport on July 1, landing in Bangkok to a traditional water cannon salute and a welcome from local officials. The new route gives passengers another way to reach central Bangkok, with Don Mueang offering more convenient access to the city than some alternative airports.

The service is being operated with Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and forms part of the codeshare partnership between flydubai and Emirates. That arrangement allows travelers to book a single ticket, benefit from through checked baggage and connect seamlessly through Dubai across the two carriers' combined network.

flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith said Thailand remains a key market for both leisure and business travel, adding that the new gateway would support growing trade and tourism links between the two countries while reinforcing Dubai's role as a global aviation hub.

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, welcomed the launch as timely, noting that the daily service would strengthen air connectivity and bring much needed capacity to Thailand during the summer travel season.

The Bangkok launch continues a period of rapid expansion for flydubai, which recently added Benghazi in Libya to its network and plans to begin flights to Pokhara in Nepal from September. The airline has positioned the moves as part of a broader strategy to open up underserved markets and strengthen Dubai's connectivity to Asia and beyond.
