flydubai has begun daily non-stop service to Aleppo International Airport, marking its second destination in Syria after Damascus and deepening the airline's push into the region's recovering aviation market.

The inaugural flight took off from Terminal 3 at Dubai International on July 20 and was met with a ceremonial water cannon salute and an official welcome from local authorities upon arrival in Aleppo.

The new route adds to flydubai's three daily flights to Damascus and comes as the airline looks to capture rising travel demand between the UAE and Syria. Officials said the service will support business travel, tourism and visits to family and friends, while also giving Syrian communities across the UAE and the wider Gulf a more direct way to reach home during the busy summer travel period.

Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, said the Aleppo launch strengthens the airline's presence in a city of major historical and commercial importance and reflects its broader commitment to linking Dubai with key regional markets. He noted that demand for UAE-Syria travel has grown steadily since the Damascus route began last year.

The Aleppo service is the latest step in flydubai's global expansion, following recently launched routes to Bangkok and Benghazi. The airline also plans to begin flights to Pokhara in Nepal starting September 23, 2026.

Flights to Aleppo operate daily from Terminal 3 at Dubai International and fall under flydubai's codeshare agreement with Emirates, giving passengers wider connectivity options across both carriers' networks.

With Syria's aviation sector gradually reopening to international carriers, flydubai's move signals growing confidence in the market and positions Dubai as a key gateway for travel into the country.
