Talal Group has broken ground on a new Central Distribution Centre at Dubai Industrial City, marking the company's largest investment to date at AED150 million.
The project underscores the conglomerate's push to strengthen its logistics and supply chain capabilities while supporting its expansion across the region.
Located within Dubai Industrial City, TECOM Group's dedicated manufacturing and logistics hub, the facility will span a built-up area of 350,000 square feet. The fully temperature-controlled centre will include 25,000 square feet of cold chain storage, 43 loading bays and a dedicated e-commerce operations centre. It will also bring together Talal Group's corporate headquarters, a wholesale cash-and-carry store and a customer service centre under one integrated campus.
Construction is currently underway, with completion targeted for the third quarter of 2027. Once operational, the hub is expected to generate around 600 jobs, adding to the UAE's expanding logistics and industrial workforce.
Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial at TECOM Group, said the project reflects the strength of the UAE and Dubai as global trade and logistics hubs. He noted that Dubai Industrial City's integrated ecosystem, advanced infrastructure and multimodal connectivity allow businesses to scale efficiently across regional and international markets, aligning with the goals of Operation 300bn and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
Mahmood Haji Baliyil, Co-Chairman of Talal Group, said the facility would strengthen regional food supply chains through expanded cold chain capacity. He added that the company plans to continue its regional expansion, leveraging Dubai Industrial City's connectivity and industrial ecosystem to achieve its long-term growth ambitions.
The development reflects Dubai's growing role as a magnet for large-scale logistics investment as companies race to build integrated regional supply networks.
