The Boulevard exhibition, held on the sidelines of the Food Innovation Conference 2024, drew a wide participation of stakeholders, investors and national and global companies specialised in food and agricultural products to explore the latest food system innovations.
The exhibition showcased cutting-edge services, products, and technologies aimed at addressing challenges to global food sustainability. Organized by MBRGI and WEF alongside a conference, it facilitated knowledge exchange among specialized companies and highlighted trends in food sustainability. Designed as an interactive platform, it educated visitors on disruptive technologies shaping food systems' future. The exhibit introduced "Food Tech Valley," launched in 2021 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aiming to triple UAE's food production. A collaboration between the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and Wasl Group, "Food Tech Valley" aims to be a modern city integrating food management, serving as a hub for clean tech-based food solutions and fostering innovation in the food industry.
The model showcase highlighted the innovative concepts of the "Food Tech Valley" project, focusing on food, innovation, knowledge, technology, and sustainability. It aims to position the UAE as a global hub for technology-driven food and agricultural solutions. The project emphasizes the use of technologies and applied research in food processing and agriculture, employing modern farming techniques like vertical farming, aquaculture, and hydroponics to enhance self-sufficiency in fresh food production and resource conservation.
The exhibition showcased four clusters of the Food Tech Valley, focusing on agricultural technology, food innovation, R&D, and smart food logistics. Elite Agro demonstrated sustainable agricultural practices, integrating science and innovation with nature preservation. Drones and IoT were highlighted for their role in advancing agriculture, particularly in developing countries. Visitors experienced immersive VR tours showcasing smart farming technologies and automated agricultural systems. The exhibition supported global efforts to advance food production technologies, mitigate hunger and malnutrition, and address climate change through resilient agricultural systems.
The Food Innovation Conference 2024, held in Dubai from 13th to 15th May under the theme “Reimagining Future Food Systems”, brings together over 150 experts, academics, public and private companies, and farmers to discuss the latest trends in global food sustainability, exchange knowledge, scale frontier technology solutions and accelerate the movement of food systems innovation globally.
