Four new types of manufactured narcotic substances have been added to the Federal Law on Combating Narcotic Substances and Psychotropic Substances list, according to Colonel Adel Ahmed Al Mazmi, Acting Head of the Forensic Laboratory at Sharjah Police.
Colonel Al Mazmi stressed the keenness of the Sharjah Police to continue developing its capabilities and being proactive in police work, pointing out that these modern-made narcotic substances, "spikes", are types of manufactured cannabinoid, which the Criminal Laboratory of Sharjah Police worked on discovering, and thus it will be the first forensic laboratory in the UAE to be able to identify what they are and the manufacturing methods used by the promoters.
He added that such achievement was the result of human competencies and qualified experts who are able to work professionally by using the modern and advanced equipment and providing studies and research supporting forensic work on different levels, protecting community members achieving the objectives of the Sharjah Police that are consistent with the strategic objective of the Ministry of Interior aimed at enhancing security and safety.
