Coinciding with the Year of Family 2026, H.H. Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum has directed the launch of a sweeping package of family empowerment initiatives in Dubai, anchored by AED1.6 billion in residential allocations and a range of community infrastructure projects.
The announcements form the second phase of the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme, a broad initiative designed to support family stability, strengthen community values and improve quality of life for Emiratis across the emirate.
At the heart of the package are 830 housing units allocated across the Wadi Al Amardi and Al Aweer projects — the largest batch of ready homes granted to Emiratis since the founding of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment. An additional AED83 million grant has been directed toward furnishing the allocated homes, under a revised framework to ensure transparency and efficiency in the allocation process.
The Al Aweer project delivers 398 modern four-bedroom units at a total budget exceeding AED734 million, while the Wadi Al Amardi project covers 432 units at over AED767 million. Both developments are built to sustainability standards and designed with flexibility for future family expansion.
The second phase also includes two new community halls. An AED40 million wedding hall in Al Aweer 1 will serve around 500 guests and support over 60,000 Emiratis in the area. A first-of-its-kind outdoor events hall in Mushrif National Park, valued at AED23 million, features a seasonally adaptive design for year-round use.
The programme's first phase delivered measurable results, supporting the formation of more than 1,100 Emirati families, facilitating 1,149 weddings and recording a 44% increase in weddings completed through the Dubai Weddings programme in 2025 compared to the previous year.
