How GCC residents can apply for a UAE visa online
GCC residents can access the GDRFAD website's smart services using either UAE Pass or their username in order to apply for the entry permit.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Department (GDRFAD) in Dubai has enabled an online application process for residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries who wish to obtain an entry permit.
In an Instagram post ahead of the Eid Al Adha holidays, the department announced the activation of this service, allowing GCC residents to apply for a prior online entry permit. This measure aims to facilitate a seamless entry process for travelers coming to the UAE.
For the entry permit application, it is necessary for applicants to possess their valid passport and present the original residence permit issued by a GCC country upon arrival. Additionally, a civil or labor card is also required in order to obtain the entry permit.
To initiate the application process, GCC residents can access the GDRFAD website's smart services and log in using their UAE Pass or username. From there, they can select the desired service and complete the application by providing the necessary information. The application process concludes with the payment of a fee amounting to Dh250, along with any applicable VAT charges.
According to the information provided on the GDFRAD website, the following conditions must be met to obtain an entry permit:
- The foreigner should possess a valid residence permit that has been active for a minimum of one year.
- There should be no existing restrictions or barriers that would hinder the traveler from entering the country.
- The work or residency card must clearly indicate the individual's profession.
