The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) has announced a grace period for individuals violating residency regulations in the UAE.

Starting from 1st September 2024, and lasting for two months, this initiative will exempt violators from financial penalties as per the Federal Law on the Entry and Residency of Foreigners.

During this period, violators can either regularize their status or leave the country without facing fines or legal consequences. The ICP will facilitate this process, ensuring that all necessary measures are in place to support individuals in adjusting their status or departing from the UAE with ease.

The initiative reflects the UAE's commitment to compassion and tolerance, providing violators an opportunity to align with the law and consider their unique circumstances. This grace period aims to ease the burden on those who have overstayed their visas or otherwise violated residency rules, encouraging compliance and legal status regularization.
