Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) has solidified its status as a global leader in trade and logistics by winning five major accolades at the fDi Global Free Zones of the Year 2024 awards.
Most notably, Jafza was ranked first overall on the global list of free zones.
In addition to securing the top global position, Jafza was recognized as the "Industrial Zone of the Year" and the "Top Sustainable Zone" in both global and Middle East categories. These awards underscore Jafza's ongoing commitment to fostering industrial innovation and advancing sustainable practices.
The prestigious fDi Global Free Zones of the Year awards drew 63 competitive entries worldwide, with Jafza standing out due to its significant infrastructure investments, sustainability initiatives, and ability to attract high-value businesses. Jafza is home to over 10,700 companies and plays a critical role in supporting Dubai’s industrial growth.
A key sustainability initiative that contributed to Jafza’s success is its rooftop solar project—the largest in the Middle East. This initiative, comprising 158,000 solar panels, saves 48,000 tons of emissions annually and provides over 30% of Jafza’s energy needs.
Abdulla bin Damithan, CEO of DP World GCC, expressed pride in Jafza’s legacy as the free zone approaches its 40th anniversary, highlighting its role in driving global trade and supporting Dubai’s D33 economic agenda. DP World officials reaffirmed their dedication to maintaining innovation, infrastructure development, and sustainability.
These awards reflect Jafza's ability to create a business environment that attracts global investment while prioritizing sustainable growth.
